paint.remove takes several strokes at once (`strokes`) and fills them as one job and one undo step, so the fill sees every hole together; and `newLayer` writes the fill to a new layer above the target, only where the hole is, leaving the target as it was (with Sample All Layers it fills from the composite). The options bar shows Photoshop's three options; with Remove after each stroke off, strokes collect as a tint on the canvas until Enter or the ✓ applies them and Esc or ⊘ drops them. Strokes are dropped when the tool or document changes under them.
